You are currently browsing the monthly archive for August, 2008.

We’ve created a UK Parliament FriendFeed page. FriendFeed gathers our feeds from sites like Flickr, YouTube and Twitter and publishes them in one place: http://friendfeed.com/ukparliament

You can subscribe to our FriendFeed and stay up to date with what we’re doing across your favourite social-networking sites.

Although our Facebook page also aggregrates content, we’ve found RSS feeds on Facebook pages - as opposed to profiles – don’t update very regularly. If at all. Any advice in that area is welcome.

One of our latest videos on YouTube is an exclusive look at what makes the Clock Tower (Big Ben) tick. Literally.

This is the pendulum bob for the Great Clock within Big Ben. The pendulum bob weighs 203 kg. The bob is made from concentric tubes of steel and zinc. Each period of the pendulum is 2 seconds. The total weight of the pendulum is 299 kg.

We’re working hard to get more video content on our YouTube channel, so keep an eye on it.
