Really interested to come across this blog, as we seem to be doing a lot of similar things in the European Parliament: varied social media presence, a blog (ours rather more “editorial” than yours), and – just starting – a major website redesign.
I would be very interested to have an opportunity to compare experiences on all of this.

Just one quick question now: what has your Google profile done for you?

Hi Steve
Sorry about the delay in replying, we recently lost the member of staff who looked after our blog (and more importantly, chased us all for content) and your comment slipped thorough the net.
I’ll have a word with our google analytics man back in the office and get back to you with a proper response to your question.
I would be happy to share experiences on any aspect of our work, we are part way through a redesign, search replacement and a migration project and we also have lots of smaller projects bubbling away in the background.
I’m off now to read your blog to find out what the EU web team are working on.
All the best
Jackie
