We’re been playing catch-up with our video output – putting out video content and then trying to find the resources to transcribe them. But it’s starting to happen!

We’ve now transcribed most of the videos on our YouTube channel and will be looking to make transcripts an automatic part of the production process rather than an afterthought – either delivered to us with the video if we use an external company, or making sure we’ve got the internal resource to cover it.

Getting the videos transcribed should mean that we can use YouTube’s captions and subtitling facility. Making this happen will be reliant on staff here having the time to work out how to do it and then… doing it. Hopefully this blog is giving an indication of how busy the team is here, and sometimes a lack of time is what holds us back from getting stuff done right now. But we’re working on it.
